2020: It Is Your Year of YES!
What has your first month of 2020 been/looked like? Well mine has been utterly crazy. But, despite how it may have started, I hope you have taken some time, like I have, to reflect on all that happened in 2019...the ups, the downs and the in-betweens and have started to chart a solid path for 2020.
I don't necessarily do vision boards or resolutions, but I make my notes right throughout the year. One of the things I've decided to do differently this year though is to assign words to guide me throughout the year and look at what should be of utmost importance in my life. You should too. For 2020 my words are 'HAPPINESS & GRATITUDE.'
According to psychologytoday.com, 'happiness is an electrifying and elusive state. More than simply positive mood, happiness is a state of well-being that encompasses living a good life, one with a sense of meaning and deep contentment.' This doesn't mean that I'll be walking around grinning like a cheshire cat all year round and not face trials and tribulations. What it does mean for me though is that I will become more intentional in everything I do to ensure that I am utterly happy at the end of it. And if happiness eludes me, I must show gratitude for the lessons and experiences I would have gained.
I want to take this time to thank each and everyone of you who have visited my website, read my blog posts, followed me on Instagram, commented or given advise on what I have been doing. Thank you for coming on this journey with me and I hope you will continue to tag along as I continue to learn and share.
As some of you may know, I created my website while being home for 11 months and 11 days during my redundancy period. I knew nothing really about website creation or the jargon that went along with it. Nevertheless I decided to figure it out and it has been an endless work in progress every since and nuff cussing too. But surprisingly, one I have thoroughly enjoyed and continue to enjoy. I have revamped the various pages so many times and every single time I do, I get some really 'AHH- HAA' moments. Especially when I figure out how to add a new feature or finally understand what that coding word meant all this time.
It has been an awesome learning experience. I was never one to really put my life out in the public or share my life's experiences so openly. Frankly, I didn't even have an Instagram account before I started the website and I rarely posted anything on Facebook. My life and my life experiences were mine. But then I realized, after someone reached out to me after I wrote and published one of my articles, that, (1) it is okay to share your life story with others because you may never know who you are helping or how that information might be useful and (2) why in heck would I pay for hosting a website plus domain name and not flipping share it with others...yeah that one got me. Yes, what I write or post may not be for everybody and that is okay. The fact is, it might be just what someone, that one person, needs at that time, to take them through their crap or make them laugh.
So, here's to 2020 and all it's awesomeness.
Check out the newly, re-vamped, website and let me know what you think. Follow along on instagram @iamdeoncecile, you never know what I may be posting. Like an article? Then share it on your page or with your friends. Thanks for taking the journey with me❤.
Lots more in store for 2020, come along with me. It's a brand new month, new year, new decade...IT'S OUR YEAR OF YES!
Blessings, Love & Light
